Pedal boats and kayaks are a great activity for couples and families providing a fun way to explore the smooth waters of Kotukutuku Bay on the shores by The Landing Café.
This area is famous as the departure point for pre-eruption journeys to the Pink and White Terraces. Guests would board 19th century whale boats and be rowed across the lake by Maori guides.
Nearby you will find the Te Wairoa stream mouth, one of the major spawning streams for Lake Tarawera’s Rainbow Trout and meander around the reeds in this secluded bay. Float around the native bird life including graceful black swans, geese and various ducks.
Options include two or four person boats or single sit kayaks.
