Hot Water Beach is located on the northern arm of Lake Tarawera at Te Rata Bay. This beach is located in a secluded bay and is only accessible by boat. Thermal springs gently rise through the lake bed warming the water and creating mystical steam shrouded cliffs.
Hot Water Beach is the perfect location for a relaxing swim in the naturally heated pools and for picnics.
Caution: Localized patches of sand are very hot.
