Meet your guide at the Landing jetty. Enjoy a scenic boat cruise to the Tarawera Outlet jetty. Take in the stunning panoramas of Lake and Mount Tarawera and enjoy the informative commentary on the 1886 Mount Tarawera eruption and the area’s volcanic past. Absorb the incredible beauty as you follow the path of an ancient lava flow through a rain forest rich with ferns, lichens and mosses in sight of the crystal clear Tarawera River. See the surging river unexpectedly disappearing into subterranean chambers before flowing underground then finally blasting out a sheer cliff face 30m high creating the spectacular Tarawera Falls, one of the best kept secrets in New Zealand. Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by the Landing Café before your return walk and boat trip back to the Landing jetty.

Unexpected sights and magnificent scenery await those who venture on this full day guided trip. Arranged to complement tour option one this tour allows for an extended boat cruise to Hot Water beach for a soak in the natural thermal waters before heading back to the Landing jetty.
